The adventure, in becoming the Master and Commander (or indeed the Mistress and Imperatrix) of your body, continues.
You’ll have learnt by now that Joseph Pilates was very much ahead of his time with regard to biomechanics and human movement, and that practicing the discipline (Pilates) has rewarded you with a longer, leaner, stronger, more flexible body. We’re way over the 6 month mark here, perhaps even closer to 12 months, and you’ve decided to up your game and move up a level with your exercise regime.
Many of these exercises are only suitable for participants who are pain-free and who can complete the modified level (the highest level) exercises in the Beginner programme.
Many people take several years to perform some of these original, classical exercises and some may never be able to perform them due to injury or genetic/spinal joint problems.
Even these clients/customers (this last grouping with injuries, etc) are going to enjoy being at this level with qpilates, because I will be working fluidly through the beginner level exercises, intensifying them as preparations for the intermediate level classes, or as a safe and effective way to reward dedication and hard work with a different, higher level exercise session that is challenging but achievable. (Sometimes called the Improver level)
